abstract

this study compared the effects of different levels of dietary fat on growth performance, liver enzymes and blood biochemical of juvenile siberian sturgeon (acipenser bearii) was designed for 12 weeks. for this reason 135 fish (15.6 ± 0.33g; mean ± sd) at nine 500 liter fiberglass tanks, each one containing 15 fish. three experimental diets with the same protein (42 %) and 3 fat levels 10, 15 and 20 percent (as low, optimum and high level) was formulated. during the breeding period, fish fed manually three times a day to the extent of satiety. at the end of the growth period, the results indicated that the fish fed with diets containing 15% fat, had significantly higher weight gain (wg) and specific growth rate (sgr) in comparison with fish fed with a 20% fat treatments (p< 0.5%) but the fcr of them was significantly lower than the other treatments. fish fed diets containing 15% fat had better blood parameters (cbc, pcv, hb, etc.), biochemical (total protein, glucose, triglycerides and cholesterol) and liver enzymes (got and gpt) significantly in comparison with fish fed with 20 % fat. based on the results of this study we can say that increased levels of fat in the diets of juvenile siberian sturgeon up to 15 percent, improved growth performance, feed efficiency and blood parameters

Effects of selenium (Sel-Plex) supplement on blood biochemical parameters of juvenile Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii)

Selenium (Se) and many of its compounds are among the most toxic micronutrients. Therefore, determining the optimal level of selenium in the diet of fish is one of the main concerns of researchers. The present study was designed to investigate the effects of Sel-Plex® (Selenium-enriched Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast) on blood biochemical parameters in juvenile Siberian sturgeon, Acipenser baer...

The effect of dietary dextrin levels on growth performance, body composition and hepatosomatic index in juvenile Siberian sturgeon, Acipenser baerii

The present study was carried out to determine the ability of Acipenser baerii in utilizing carbohydrate (dextrin) as a non protein energy source substituted with animal oil. A total of 65 juveniles A. baerii with an initial mean weight of 689 ± 62 g were distributed in 15 fiber glass tanks. Five diets were formulated including 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20% of dextrin and fed  for 8 weeks. Fish were wei...

The effects of different levels of native commercial probiotic (Super zist) on the growth, nutritional efficiency and survival rate of Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii) Juvenile

The use of selected bacteria to improve growth parameters and the microbial population in the host is one of the new ideas carried out for manipulating the bacterial population in aquatic organisms. These bacteria also consumed in the diets of farmed fish to optimize the balance of the microbial population of the gastrointestinal tract and they have a great effect on the growth and survival pro...

Oxygen consumption and swimming behavior of juvenile Siberian sturgeon Acipenser baerii during stepped velocity tests

Oxygen consumption rate (MO2) and critical swimming speed (Ucrit) of juvenile Siberian sturgeon Acipenser baerii were measured at 24°C using a step-wise velocity test in a flume-type respirometer. Swimming behavior was video-recorded before and after the swimming experiment in a respirometer and an open tank. The relationship between MO2 and swimming speed (U) can be accurately described by a p...
